The iGeneration

Our three year old can navigate an ipad like a pro and even more than a year ago was trying to engage with print media by swiping the page! I have read some about screen time trimming neural growth at ages below 2. We watch some quality programming together like Busytown and do lots of art projects and reading of books. That said I think television has a useful place in telling more stories than a parent might be capable of and keeping a child engaged. As far as overall screentime we have not made a big deal about it and our daughter is constantly engaged in other activities like leaping and jumping all over the place while her favorite show is on. We encourage her to use technology but our main focus now is socialization and personal development.
